ABOUT
À L'EST
The Central and Eastern European and Latin American Film Festival À l'Est (formerly À l'Est du Nouveau) has as its mission to bring the Norman community closer to the most outstanding international independent cinema, with a special focus on Central and Eastern European and Latin American cinema, with innovative perspectives and subjects linked to their history and real contexts, proposing an approach and an open dialogue with these societies. Through a diverse program, curated by professionals dedicated to the diffusion of auteur cinema, visual arts, and innovation, gathered in the À l'Est du Nouveau Association, with 20 years of experience, and with the support of various public institutions, we seek to form critical audiences, inspire new generations of Norman filmmakers, and strengthen opportunities for cultural exchange through the organization of meetings and debates. We promote cultural decentralization by reaching different departments of the Seine-Maritime region. Our management is guided by values of inclusion, diversity, and sustainability, fostering volunteerism as a civic-community strength and generating enriching cinematic experiences for all audiences, including children, who make up an important segment of our audience.
